Question Refining a Website ...

Hello dear friends,

I'm a normal Linux user and will go stepwise deeper into it . For now I need tools. Therefore I adquired IBM's Homepage Builder 4.0 for Linux that is very easy to use but has ugly fonts and runs on wine. Now IBM don't offers the possibility of upgrading or to get at lower cost a substitute ...

Knows somebody a real Linux application that permits work on websites and -pages with easy and good presentable results ?

Thanks in advance for any help and hint !!!

Unhappy dreamweaver bye bye

well,
I'm new with html programming or writing and therefore I look for a friendly front end for constructing webpages/-sites ... went to macromedia's site looking for dreamweaver and the friendliness ist for a while out of my possibilities ... and will not know how easy it will install on Linux, but surely not too much traumatic, in this days and with rpm installations and de-installations are quite fine ! A little bit work ist better than total dependance from MS !

Saludos

Can WINE handle dreamweaver? My experience with WINE is about 50-50.

Thanks to all that answer trying to help !!!!
In the case of getting a printer working ... I think the CUPS system is fine and permits to bind almost any printer. With wine I have no experience ... because I try to divorce fully from M$.

Here is Dreamweaver MX/6 page at the Wine App DB. There is a forum at the bottom where people talk about their experiences while trying to get Dreamweaver working under Wine.

There is also another thread here at LQ about this...

WOW, You got me all over this. I've always had WINE crash on me when trying dreamweaver versions 2-4. But I've never tried MX. hehe'

I'm going to try it now;
