Redirect sound card output into SJPhone

Hi, folks.

Firstly, I made some searching before asking this question. There was a thread which exactly said what I am going to talk about. And I followed steps of that answer, and my SJPhone could 'listen' the sound played by VLC player. I haven't installed the audacity software. I just emerged alsa-utils which includes the alsamixer in my gentoo running SJPhone. What I want to know is how alsamixer redirect the output of sound card(vlc player) into SJPhone. Below is my understanding: When I toggled off the audio recording of CAPTURE, SJPhone couldn't listen the sound any more. Then I believe that first the sound card make a digital-to-analog transformation, then alsamixer make a analog-to-digital transformation, at last, the final sound signal is taken as the input of SJPhone. So is there a way to avoid these two transformations? Hope make myself clear.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Best wishes
