Redhat 9 on Dell 600m HP & HP zt1195

Hello guys,

I have an HP zt1195 on which I was using RH 8 and was fine with VESA driver. Tried to install RH 9; installation was fine (tried both VESA driver and Savage4) and on the login screen I can't login. It crashes back to the login prompt. This happens on both graphical and text login. Am not sure how a bad video driver affect text login too.

The graphical login screen is fine and during installation the X window test is fine.

Interestingly, I tried to install RH 9 on my friend's Dell 600m (with Dell TrueMobile wireless card) yest and saw the same problem on it too. It has ATI mobility 9000.

On both these systems, Mandrake 9.1 is running fine now.

Any opinions please....

Thanks and Cheers,
Senthil
