Question Redhat 9 boot screen is not shown...

Hi,

I've just installed Redhat 9. I've got a problem since i also have windows installed on my system. As far as i know, when i boot my system, a window is displayed so that i can choose between redhat and windows. Instead the system is booting directly to windows. I can only access redhat by booting my system on the boot floppy.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem pls??

Thanks!

Hello adrianb,

May be you haven't installed the boot loader on the MBR....you can try the following

1. First boot with the floppy and log in as root.

2. Install grub on MBR using the command

/sbin/grub-install /dev/hda

3. Reboot

Let us know if this dosent solve the problem...

Also, post your grub.conf file and the output of 'mount' command

Regards,

amit

Just in case you selected LILO for whatever reason (I think GRUB is the default on RH, but it's been a while), then the command is simply "lilo" to restore it to the MBR.
