Unhappy Redhat 8.0 and OpenOffice 1.0.1

I have a little problem with OpenOffice and redhat.

I had 7.3 version running well on my machine but I installed redhat 8.0 with no problem (actually and upgrade from 7.3 to 8.0).
My OpenOffice 1.0.1 has stopped working. I got the following message after the splash screen (OpenOffice.org 1.0.1) "An unrecoverable error has occured. All modified files have been saved and can probably recovered at program start <<OK>>"

I uninstalled the version and reinstalled again but same results.

Any ideas? Do you think is an issued because 8.0?

Any help will be apreciatted.

8.0 includes Openoffice, Do you have parallel installations that are conflicting? Are you using the version that came on the CD? I would highly recommend using that version until 8.0 has been out for awhile.

No, I am using my previous version.

I installed OO wihen I had redhat 7.3 and the upgrade didn't asked for anything.
How can I use/install the version that came with redhat 8.0?

Thanks

On my RH8.0 install, the executables are located under /usr/bin. For instance you can exec /usr/bin/oocalc to get the spreadsheet app.

If you are in the gui, then I would assume that the links in the menu would be pointed to the correct copy.

I don't have the executables.

I went to /usr/bin but I don't have OO executables there.
I also went to the menu but there isn't any OO item on the menu. The options under the office menu are abiword and gnumeric the default programs but not the OO.

How can I restore from my CD? Is this posible?

Thanks.

Here's something you can try. Uninstall your version of OpenOffice, then click the red hat (Gnome menu), System Settings, Packages. That will bring up a screen after you log in of what packages are installed or not. Look at the one marked something like "office productivity". If it's checked, you'll see a "details" button to the right. (Check it if it's not checked.) Then under details, look to see if OpenOffice is checked as installed. If it's not, check mark it. Then click okay or enter, and then, I think, Install. This will prompt you for one of your install disks, but when it's done, it should do the trick. Hope so.
