how can i use my dsl modem to conect to the internet with red hat 7...thanks

If you want to connect directly to the net with no firewall or router, then make sure your DSL modem is connected to the phone line with no line filter and then use an ethernet cable from your WAN port on the modem to an ethernet card in your PC.

And then type

adsl-setup

and answer the questions. Then it's as simple as typing

/usr/sbin/ifup ppp0
