RedHat 7.3 / How to change resolution & how to logout and into a terminal

I have a working redhat 7.3 distro, but for the love of me I cant seem to find a way to change the resolution using gnome... Isnt there a txt file I can edit? and also I was wondering howto log out of gnome and into a terminal... theres no buttons or anything, not even when you click logout, like RH8... any help would be appreciated... thanks

you can get out to a prompt with control-alt-F2 or F3 or
whatever, and run telinit 3 as root.
then run XF86Setup
