Question Red Hat Network and Upgrading RPMs

Hi All,

I'm currently running RH 2.4.18-3. Is it acceptable to download the 2.4.18-10 kernel from Redhat for free? I purchased my disk set from Linux Central. I signed up and RH check my system and told me everything I need to get my system up to par. I downloaded the newest recommended kernel.

What I'm wondering is...is there only a charge for phone support, or is there a charge for updates too?

Thanks,

Vince

If the kernel is downloadable, it's for free. There's no charge for updates (usually, because if you'd like a cd with packages you may be asked to pay a little price for the cd).

You may freely update your system. If you need support (telephone, etc) then you need to purchase at least a support package!
