Post red hat linux, fortran 77


Hello Sir!
I am a beginner in Linux. few days back i have installed red hat linux in my desktop computer. It is not having Fortran 77. Sir, i want to know that how to install or download Fortran 77 from the internet? I will be highly thankful to you.

Welcome to LQ.

Assume 'Redhat Enterprise Linux EL 5.5' ..
F77 / f77 / g77 is easy to install with these commands :

1) su
2) yum install compat-gcc-34-g77

.. which will download and install the package.

If you're using Red Hat Linux, not Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), then remember that it's long-dead and you're better off switching to a different distro.
