Red Hat 8.0 boot problems

I have installed Linux Red Hat 8.0 on a second hard disk of my Dell Dimension E3100. My first hard disk runs Windows XP Media Center. I wasn't able to boot the linux OS because it gets stuck during the process. The last line (boot) reads this: "ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7, 0x3f6 on irq 14" . Please help.

why are you using Red Hat 8, it's like 5 years old. Get Fedora Fore, which is the new Red Hat Linux, and it's free. Fedora is also more stable. If you have to use Red Hat Linux, use version 9, which is somewhat better.
