Unhappy Red Hat 8.0 and quick keys??

Ok, i installed RH 8.0 on to my P3 toshiba laptop, one thing that is quite annoying is that when i try to type anything at a good pace letters will double, if i type anything, say "hello" if i go to quick it will be "hhello" or "heello" and the faster i type the worse it gets, is there any way to tone this setting down i've tried just about everything to no avail. thanks.
