Recording Music with Linuc

Hi

I cannot record anything neigher using Audiacity nor using Ardour with jack. All inputs are set load enough using alsamixer. I have kinda preamp. When conecting the mic to another Audiodevice with Line-In, I hear what I'm singing. (I also tested a Guita-Amp recording, did not work)

I tried diffrent configurations in qjackctl, but I'm a newbee, so maybe I've overseen something.

Using:
Moonshine (Fedora 7)
2.6.22.6-1.rt9.5.fc7.ccrmart
AMD64_X2
ASUS M2N-E onBoard Soundcard

thx

So you are saying that you connected your microphone in the line in and you could hear your voice coming from the speakers. But then, when you connected the guitar amp nothing came out? If so, are you sure the amp is working? Even more, that the cable and connector are ok?

When you plug the cable to the line in you should already hear some "clicks". Say, connect the cable and leave the other end open. Then you hit it with your fingers. You should hear some noise coming from the speakers.

I would recommend using the same program that you used to record the mic to record the guitar. You might have a software issue too.

Good luck.

No, The GuitarAmp does not give any signal. The devices, Mic and Amp, are working. I can attach the Micro to a Laoudspeaker/Preamp/Stero and I have a signal, that's what I meant with a Line-In device, missunderstandable, sry.

I hear nothing from the computer. Though under Windows it seems to work. Must be a configuration or hardware-support issue.
