Recompiling and Reinstalling
Well, i am into linux a bit and have had a machine running for a couple years now, but basically, i have a stupid question:
If i were to install, say, apache. I would:
1) tar -xzvf the package
2)./configure (insert options here)
4) make install
This process would install apache to configure's default location (or to mine) which would probably be at /usr/local/apache.
Well, if the install of that compilation of apache were to not function right, or be the wrong status, i would want to recompile apache and reinstall it.
Is there a seperate set of steps i should follow to recompile the binary, and re-install it (among other changed files?) Or should i just repeat these steps 1-4 with the requred changes?
