Recommendation for PHP or Python web2 image gallery

Any suggestions, is there anything which looks professional and stands out from the rest?

Would be good to find something with a web 2.0 type foreground window as many of the mainstream hosted image galleries do now.

Quantity of pictures is not going to be too much, and I will be the only person uploading pictures to it.

Thanks for the suggestions maples but despite much searching I haven't yet found quite what I am looking for.

Many of the Lightbox based ones seem to do only one single collection of pictures rather than allowing an index of many picture libraries.

Well I am still having difficulty finding exactly what I am looking for.
  • Perhaps I can explain further my vision of what I am looking for:
  • Front page say thirty or so Collections.
  • When one collecting is selected, bring up an overlay in a lightbox of the first picture in that collection.
  • At the same time have a horizontal slider of all other images in that collection.
  • Leaving the background page of all the other collections greyed out but ready to go when the currently viewed collection is closed.
Does that make sense or am I looking for something impossible?

I think the problem is I am searching for the wrong thing. It seems I should be looking for a light CMS with Gallery addon. So to that end can anyone suggest a suitable CMS & Gallery combination.
