recommend excel like program for linux

my mom wants excel for linux
she's an accountant and tells me 9 out of 10 employers demand excel experience
i don't wanna use setup wine
is there any program comparable to excel for linux?
preferably one that simulates the buttons and functionality of excel
remember i had to come fix her computer one day because when she minimized her windows they "suddenly disappeared"
and i don't know much about office software

OpenOffice Calc has a very similar look and feel to Excel. There are a few pretty minor differences that I have noticed (including the adding of trend lines to graphs) But it is probably your best bet. It even opens and saves Excel files if you want.

Calc is good, I like gnumeric a little better. It is a closer look and feel to Excel. It always works when I send home big spreadsheets.
