Recommedation on Animation Software

I've been looking for an animation software for Ubuntu. I don't want anything like Flash. I've had it for a while, but I want something new. On my Windows machine I'm running Mirage, but I can't get it working with WINE. So, is there any really good open source animation software that runs well with a tablet?

I don't know about the tablet, but "blender" is a pretty well known animation tool.

I've finally found a 2D animation software that runs very well. It's called Synfig. It took me a little bit to configure it, but I have no complaints.
