Rebuild kernel And then !!!


And restart !

kernel panic : no init found .try passing init = option to kernel
how could it be ! Who can tell me ?

please post more useful information. grub.conf, contents of boot etc.... we're not psychic

few things to check:

Did you make install and copy the bzImage file to /boot dir?
Did you updete lilo.conf / grub's menu.lst file and reran lilo/grub-install ?

Note: If you use grub as your bootloader, you do not have to re-install grub (grub-install) after compiling/recompiling a kernel, just edit the grub/menu.lst file and reboot.
