RealPlayer8 - sickly colours

I've recently installed RealPlayer8 on RH9. When RealPlayer8 is started it looks OK but the gnome desktop and panel turns a sickly colour. When the focus is removed from RealPlayer the gnome desktop and panel revert to normality, blueish, but RealPlayer8 turns a sickly pink.

Any suggestions on how I can stop this from happening?

Thanks in anticipation

Well, I know this isn't a direct answer to your question, but have you considered Helix Player? Realplayer 10 will be based on it, and it does a much better job with current RealOne/Player streams and videos than the Realplayer 8 for UNIX.

Here are some instructions for Fedora Core 1 that will most likely work on RH9 as well.

Good luck....

Poprocks, thanks for your reply.

I will give it a go. However, the only reason I need it is am Internet Radio Station that is pushing RealPlayer. Would Helix Player work in this situation.

listen, I just downloaded RealOne Player 9 for Linux, it's real neat and it installed without a hitch, why not give it ago? When you download the file just chmod it to make it an executable then at the command line just run ./filename

ciao

I don't know what I've done but the colours have resolved themselves to what I would normally expect - spooky!!!!!!!!!!!!!
