RealPlayer Operation/Install

I was not sure which OS to choose. I have Red Hat 7.2 on a i686. So I
installed the one for Linux/Alpha as it was the same download as The Linux 2X. They were rpms so guess it was the right one. It gave me a welcome song.

None of the choices in the content panel do anything.

When I tried the CBS site in Opera 6.1, another real player popped
up but nothing happened. In mozilla 4.1 I got the error message
"some components are not available to provide playback
of this....." Kept popping up and had to kill Mozilla.

I'd like to access something besides the welcome song.

I'm pretty sure linux/alpha is the wrong version. I'm surprised it runs at all. choose the linux/i386 ones.

There is a Linux2x(libc6 i386)RPM but it is the same download as the alpha I downloaded. All the other choices that I might have guessed at have a .bin extension and would not be for me.

So it won't work for me because of my system and I did not screw up? (other than guessing at the Linux/Alpha which I thought was wrong)

have you tried other sites besides CBS? It might just be that particular site. Also, did you install the new rv9 codecs? There is a link on the page where you choose your os.
changes in content panel don't do anything for me, either.

No, and I'll get those rv9 codes. Saw that but did not know what it was. I'll try some other sites. Thanks!

I got 25 errors when I verified that package.

The rv9 download is a .tgz I've only installed tar.gz before. Are they the same?
