readline problem when compiling

Ive got mdk 9.0 and when i try to compile pilot-link i get this error:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
checking for readline... not found
configure: error: Development headers for readline were not found. Please correct.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have both readline-4.3-4 and readline-devel-4.3-4 already installed on my system.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
