reaching hotmail via thunderbird

hi,

im really excited :p because its my first question. :)
i wanted to reach my mails under thunderbird (latest version 2.0) but several problems occured. i have some questions:

1.how can i read my hotmail inbox and send mail via thunderbird?
i have downloaded necessary extensions(web-mail-1-2-3.xpi,hotmail-1-2-3.xpi)and several freepops packages however they didn't work out.

2.how can i send e-mail from my yahoo address by using thunderbird(i can read my mails but i couldn't set the smap. there are several choices, none of them is the same in yahoos help pages "smtp.mail.yahoo.com")

thank you very much..

Using Google, I found one comment that hotmail-1-2-3 didn't work. Try the previous version as see if that helps.

You cannot send mail directly to Yahoo, unless you have their "pay" service. But you don't need to. You should still continue to send outgoing mail to your ISPs SMTP server. You could set the Return address on e-mails, to your Yahoo address.

Cheers.
