rdesktop causing XP machine to sleep

Technically a windows question I guess, but someone here might know...

I just figured out how to use rdesktop and I love it; I can access my XP laptop from linux. But it keeps sleeping when I log out with the lid closed. I configured it in my user account and in my administrator account to never sleep (including after inactivity and with the lid closed), and it never did this when I used remote desktop from another XP machine. Anyone know why it's doing this?

I am not sure of the exact cause for the sleeping, however using rdp in linux will cause the local user to be logged out (on the windows box). I would think this has something to do with your problem and probably a good first step toward fixing it. HTH

yeah, but it does the same when i log in from XP, without the sleeping. very confused.

Which version of rdesktop are you using? I'm using 1.3.1 and my XP box never goes to sleep when I log out.

VNC is another remote network implementation. You run a VNC server on the machine you connect to, and use a VNC client on the client machine to connect to the server. See here for more details.
