RAID 1 + Windows

I have 2 x 250Gb drive (let's name them #1 and #2) setup in RAID 1 software (mdadm). Partitions are marked as Linux RAID on both drive. However, I have an additional partition on drive #1 marked as NTFS (to run Windows and that I don't care if it is not RAID...). My question:

Is the fact that I'm running windows on the same RAID1 Array (and same drive) could "break" this linux RAID 1 Array? Or since it is on a separate partition I don't have to worry about this?

Thanks

Claude

Software RAID will function at the partition level for you, so you only need two partitions on each drive that are identical in size/structure, and then you can mirror them. Other partitions on the device don't need to be included in the RAID 1 configuration, and can be accessed as standard partitions with file-systems on them.
