r8168 :O

i know that this problem was sorted many times but searched many topics of it and still i didnt found solution in my computer. im new in linux so i dont actually know exactly what im doing but some things i figured out alrdy.
kk problem is with my network card which is very famous realtek 8168/8111. Tried instalation instrucions of realtek and it stops at #make clean modules command with error:make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/r8168-8.011.00/src'
install -m 744 -c r8168.ko /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/kernel/drivers/net/
install: cannot stat `r8168.ko': No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/r8168-8.011.00/src'
make: *** [install] Error 2
lobo@lobo-desktop:/usr/src/r816

no matter if i try to do it from /usr/src directory or other
i disabled r8169 by changing its name to xxx.xx.old and seems to be fine with it but i cant pass the step of instaling new driver. I have ubuntu 8.04 with kernel installed good but i think its may be a problem of some missing other package(dunno which). alrdy tried realtek newest version of driver which seems to be r8168-8.011.00 and tried also r1000_v1.05 as somebody said it could work...unfortunetly i still cant connect
