Quick Question about Reconfiguring Network

When i installed my copy of Ubuntu, i told it to skip the Network configuration because i had no cable for it then, but now, i have and i need to reconfigure that part of the installation. I know there is a code for this, ive used it before for reconfiguring X.Org. Its something like sudo dkpg-reconfigure xorg. But in this case, i need to reconfigure the Network detection thingo.

Thanks
Wayne

it might be some base-<stuff> thing (it is here in debian). anyway, the only files you'll have to set up properly are:

/etc/network/interfaces
/etc/resolv.conf

maybe:

/etc/hosts
/etc/hostname

manpages are there for all these files.

meant: edit these configurationfiles to get your network working.

$ man interfaces

"vim" is an editor. there are more of them (nano,ed,...)

$ vim /etc/network/interfaces

linux is well documented, "man" is the console help system - it's your friend.

$ man man

get a linux crashcourse somewhere.
