Quick Install Question
 

Alright I have mandrake 8.0/Win98SE installed on my computer and set up a dual boot using Lilo. I for some reason could not get the network settings to work, so I installed Suse7.1. Everything works perfectly, and now I want to erase the dual boot from Win98/Mandrake and change it to Win98/suse. Should I fdisk my MBR, and then create a new one with the suse lilo? WHat are the consequences of fdisk /mbr ? Will I lose any info, should I back up my computer before I do it?

Any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The msdos command ' fdisk /mbr ' will only replace lilo with the normal boot program. After you do this, boot into Suse with the boot disk that you made when you installed it and edit the ' lilo.conf ' file to put lilo in your mbr. You may have to add some lines to lilo.conf to be able to boot into win98.
