Quick Install Question
I am installing a dual boot system. I have already installed windows 2000 and working on partitioning the drive for linux. When running partition magic, it asks me if I want to do a logic or primary. I don't think it matters (i know primary will only let me do 4 partitions). I was planning on logical partitions (something like this)...
/boot (100MB) /swp (512MB) /install (not sure yet) /home (1 gig, I plan to map this to another computer) All of which would be logical partitions. And all will be after C: (windows). Am I missing anything? Thanks. |
No, you're not missing anything. Actually you could work only with these partitions:
/ --> where everything will be installed. This partition will include "/boot" and "/install" partitions as well, as installation will go to that partition /swap --> self explanatory /home --> self explanatory |
is there an advantage to making the /boot seperate?
I meant / not /install. opps. |
