Ok, so I've got WinE installed... I had to create the c_drive dirs all by myself, and I finally got that done... I did the config file and edited it (to my very small knowledge of Linux)... I would copy the file and ask what is wrong, but it's too big... when I type wine into the Konsole, it gives me the following message:
Warning: No valid DOS drive found, check your configuration file.
Warning: could not find wine config [Drive X] entry for current working directory /home/james; starting in Windows directory.
Invalid path L"c:\\windows" for L"windows" directory: does not exist.
Perhaps you have not correctly edited or created your Wine configuration file, which is (supposed to be) '/home/james/.wine/config'.
However, I am certain that .wine/config is in it's right place, so it must obviously be a configuration file. If anyone can help me troubleshoot this problem, that'd be great...
yah i find that this will happen when you do it manually...i highliy suggest you go to the frankscorner website in my sig below and go download winetools on that website....this will make the fake drive for you, and it'll be done correctly for sure...even if you think you do it correctly, for some reason it doesn't like it when you do it manually...so give winetools a shot and see if it helps you out.
Well, at least WineTools changed SOMETHING... still not running correctly though. Now I've got it saying this:
Could not stat /home/james/.wine/%HOME%/.wine/c (No such file or directory), ignoring drive C:
Could not stat /home/james/.wine/%HOME% (No such file or directory), ignoring drive F:
Invalid path, blah blah...
Perhaps blah blah...
More troubleshooting please?? I'd appreciate it greatly...
