question about useradd


there are options -g and -G

what is the difference?

Did you read the manual before posting? -g represents a users main group and -G is for other groups.

Exactly, the manual is well written and easy to understand.

Anyway your main group is the same as your userid if you are using Redhat or derivaties (I think its the same for Debian), on other distros its the "users" group and on others it could be something else. Other groups are "other groups" that are available on your system e.g. audio, video, disk etc.
