question about kernel 2.6.10

I am using FC3
kernel 2.6.10
before I upgrade from 2.6.9, the kernel was fine when i shutdown. Right now, when I shutdown the computer, it shows BAD EIP
I know if you want to fix it you can recompile the kernel with ACPI realtime mode because i have compiled the new kernel, and it is worked.

But are there anyway I can fix BAD EIP in shutdown without recompile the kernel because it is very annoying. Whenever there is new kernel, i have to recompile the kernel again. it is unconvenient.

Regard
Reece M

Did you tried APM instead of ACPI?
Compiling a kernel is a moment of peace and joy. You can leave your computer to do things, because you want it to be the fastest possible. Then you can go WC, eat and say hello to your wife. And when it's finished, you sit back in front of your PC 'til the next kernel compil'.

yes, it used to enjoyable, but the kernel is released so often, and I do not want to compile all the time, so I would just grab the rpm and install it. Are there any kernel rpm package with ACPI-Kernel Real Time Mode included?
