Quake 3 - No mouse

Hi!

I have a little problem with my quake 3. I' m running a SuSE 8.1 system and I have installed the newest linux point of Quake III (1.32).
But if I start the game I have no mouse. I am using a MS Optical Mouse Explorer (I think that' s the name :D )

And playing an Ego- Shooter without a mouse is very silly...

Please help me!

what do you mean with 'ego-shooter'?

oh; and i have no idea about your mouse problem;
i do not see why the mouse would not work in
a game if it works on the desktop (unless wine(x)
is being used, but that's not the case here.

oh, I come from germany. Here we say "Ego- Shooter". Isn' t it an English word? It means "first person 3d action game" or something like that :D

ah.. here we say 'fps-shooter' first person shooter.
well, actually i'm not sure what the dutch name for
it is... so i do not really know what we say here. but
i say fps-shooter :) thank you for the clarification - i've
learnt something new :D

wunderful!
But you can learn something more:
You' ve written "dutch". Our language in germany is called "deutsch" (or english "german"). Probably it was only a mistake.... :D
"dutch" is the language in holland or netherlands (the state of dope :p )

About the mouse problem, go to ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/ and get the 1.32b release. 1.32b seems to fix the mouse problem.

Heheh this is funny....he did mean 'dutch" since he *is* Dutch...look at his location. What he meant is that he can't remember how they call fps in dutch.

Verstaan?
