Angry QUAKE 3 DEMO red hat 9


I have downloaded the linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh from idsoftware.com I su to root and then I type 'sh linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh' and an xterm windows pops up saying 'xterm: Can't execvp ./linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh: Permission denied'



what do I do???

hi,
type ls -l and then and look at the fap.it will be most probably,
rw-rw-rw- or something like it.
anyway the execute permission will be not be there.
just change the fap (chmod etc..)
you will be killing frags soon ,i would say.

by the way, there is no default.cfg anywhere........

try chmod +x linuxq3ademo-1.11-6.x86.gz.sh as root(su) this add executable permissions to the file

woops!!!!! sorry I fixed that problem forgot to mention that, now i type q3demo and get this....

[root@localhost usr]# q3demo
Q3 1.11 linux-i386 Dec 4 1999

q3demo/baseq3

what the hell do i do now? maybe someone could show me their default.cfg file or email it to me???

config

grab the config out of the pk3 file and stick it in $home/.q3a/q3demo/ i had the same problem...now im getting vm_create on ui failed. oh well, mabie ill get mine working later this year, if ever.
