We use Qmail server with IMAP. It's been working for months & months. Clients mostly use Outlook. Today, when we try to recieve email we get the following error in Outlook:


Task 'mail01.telescope.com: Folder:Inbox Check for new mail.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Could not fetch new headers in the folder Inbox for Account mail01.telescope.com. Error:Unable to connect to the server..'

Task 'Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on mail01.telescope.com.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Could not fetch new headers in the folder (null) for Account mail01.telescope.com. Error:Unable to connect to the server..'

Any ideas?

Have you tried restarting IMAP?

Thanks for the reply, we figured out the problem

The problem is we ran xinetd upgrades last night (Red Hat 7.3)

The upgrade put the following line in /etc/xinetd.d/imap:

wait = no.100

It should be

wait = no
