Python-free Alternative to Offlineimap?

Hello

I would like to fetch my emails to my notebook for travelling when I am out of office, travelling, ... to continue to work on emails when offline (under MUTT email reader (over imap)).

would you know another program like offlineimap that is easy to configure and without python.

Furthermore, if you have a sample configuration file for gmail or another email provider, please post ; this would be very very helpful.

thank you

Hi,

I've heard good things about mbsync (isync package in Debian). Not sure how easy it is to configure though.

Evo2.

You are great Evo2! isync is very very little and looks nice. It has NO single dependency, and it is writen in C. I just apt-get'ed it. many thank you again.

Hi,

it depends on libdb and libssl (and libc6). Why is a small number of dependencies a priority? Debian/apt are quite capable of looking after dependencies for you.

Cheers,

Evo2.

Not to mention that Python is preinstalled on almost any distro anyways, so you are actually not adding dependencies when using a Python program in most cases.
