Pure-ftpd, stopping people downloading.

Hiya,

I am running a pure-ftpd system, and I would like to know how to limit a user, so he can upload but not download.

For example if someone is uploading a web site to me, I want to make it, so that he can upload but not be able to download the files aterwards.

I am running it using virtual users, and this is the options I use when starting the ftpd.

/usr/local/sbin/pure-ftpd -j -w -c5 -N -lpuredb:/etc/pureftpd.pdb &

If worse came to worse, I know I could limit them to 1k download speed, but I really dont want to do that because on the whole it will be small (1 - 2 k) files that will be uploaded.

I also need ot be able to allow certain users to download, so I cant block downloading all together, just on a user by user basis.

EDIt //

I cant type also

Topic is "Pure-ftpd, stopping people downloading." of course.

If your giving someone write access, he also has read access, and therefore can download. If he's uploaded, why do you not want him to download what he allready has??? Obviously he has it , as he's uploaded it to you????

Seems an odd request to me.
