Pure-ftpd

I just set up my pure-ftpd server with inetd. If i type my ftp://my_ip into a browser the page doesn't load, however if i type ftp://my_local_ip into the browser the page does load. I can access the server through both ip addresses using the ftp command.

On which port do you have your pure-ftpd ?
if it is something else then the default port 21 then it is correct you don' t get anything.
However if your browsers does see it, it is on port 21.

So It might be that your ftp program is not working.

What do you use, on which port?

I just unistalled pure-ftpd and installed pro-ftpd. Now everything works.
