protocol not supported
 

I have been trying to set up gain instant messenger but when I set it up for msn, I get an error during the loggon stage. The error simply says "protocol not supported" . I have installed the /lib/msn.so extension but that still hasn't helped. Is this just another one of Bill Gates tactics to take over the world?:cry:

I fear it is. I heard msn servers now only accept connection from version >=9.0 of their own client, for "security reasons". I think they're right, that's the key of security-through-obscuration: they need to completely change your system every few weeks, so the number of people able to hack it is kept reasonably contained ;)
