Programs Automatically Start When I log In To KDE

Hi All,

I am having a strange problem with KDE. I use RH9 and recently had a power outage ( tripped on the power cable  ) Since then each time that I log in I get kppp and firestarter password queries and kmix starts, ( which were programs running when I crashed ) I am hoping that this is a common problem and that there is a simple explantation for it.

Many thanks in advance.

When you logout/shutdown, uncheck the box marked "save session".

there is no save session option when logging out, although I have seen this option before just not in RH9 & KDE.. I have also made a link between "logout & halt" so I can just click on a button to do either

thanks anyway

I don't know if this is the best way. But have a look in /home/username/.kde/share/config/session
you should see a bunch of files there. Look for files starting with the name of the app you don't want autostarting and move them to a backup. If everything goes okay delete them.

/edit also, have a look in control center under "kde componants" and then "session manager" and should be an option to not restore session. Is on mine but my distro isn't mutalated by red hat :D
