programming in linux - ARGH!!!!
Firstly, having a LOT of trouble trying to get an updated version of gcc, cpp, libgcc and binutils working. The problem? gcc can't find a file: cc1plus
I'm guessing that should've come with the package, but it doesn't seem to install it. I copied the older one over, but then I still get problems. Can anyone direct me as to how to install a clean version of the programs, without the headache? |
well if you are a newb(like me) use mandrake, also tell what language i used C++ and it worked out perfectly.... also another note make sure you know ASCII standard for C++ not Visual C++ or Basic, python is a very easy to learn powerful language also

are you trying to compile a new version or use rpm's?
|
Im using redhat now not hard at all
|
yeah, but trust me unless you are using the AS servers, or customed built servers dont go with redhat if you are a desktop user use mandrake! :P its made to be better than redhat
|
I'll second Mandrake as a great starter (and day to day) distro...even for a developper, its got it all.
How did you install GCC anyway? I notice you didn't mention a distro... |
