program to change avi to vcd?
hi. I downloaded a movie - Transformers: The movie. (pretty sure it is out of print can't find it anywhere so don't think it is a legal issue that i downloaded it) I'd like to I'd like to watch it on my tv. Is there a program to change the format to vcd so i can do so? Also i believe it is in 16:9 ratio. Would i need to use an editor like Cinelerra to change it to 4:3 ratio or would that cause too much squashing? I want Optimus to transform, not deform! thanks for any replies in advance.

Our own Mr Wapcaplet has written a script called tovid
(uses a few other tools to do the actual work), have a search here. Also has a thread going under Linux-Answers. Cheers, Tink |
once it is a vcd format do i have to burn it any special way? I don't know if it is just part of the vcd format to know that it has to play when it is in the dvd player.

vcdimager takes care of the layout. Just have a look
at tovid. Also can be found at http://tovid.sourceforge.net/ Cheers, Tink |
ok i successfully got the mpg file from using tovid. i have the .bin and .cue files from vcdimager. Now i am unsure as to how to burn it. Do i just burn it to cd-r using k3b regularly or do i try to do it as an image? I've read that you can do the procedure with cdrao but haven't used it regularly so not comfortable with it. thanks for any replies in advance.
