Hi phatbastard!

What's dameware? If you say what it does, you should probably get much more replies, since many of us are not very familiar with windows applications (at least, I'm not anymore, thank goddess...ghehe). Anyway, take a look here:

http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-l...en/table.shtml

It's a table of equivalents Windows - Linux. Maybe you can find what you seek there.

Good luck!

Its a program that allows u to connect to windows nt machines remotetly from your computer. U can browse shares, copy over and paste files etc. Check processes running on remote machine etc.

vnc it the easiest way to get a remote visual connection, as for checking processes... well you don't need the crap that dameware does, as linux works properly in the first place. use ssh to obtain a shell login.

and as you've found... don't assume we know what each obscure bit of windows software does... especially junk like dameware.

heh your right. I find myself less and less using my dual boot to go over to windows. Somewhat new to linux been using it for 6 months now and i really like linux

ive been looking for a dameware alternative, something open source or cross platform. i know about VNC, TightVNC, or UltraVNC, which are all pretty cool, but, what i like about dameware is, when you want to take control of a computer is, the client doenst have to be installed on the "victim" computer. makes fixing problems on my office network super easy cause i get swamped by other work and it lets me fix problems without making trips to just give someone power user rights. as far as i know, the VNC line up thats free cant do that, otherwise i'd introduce it to the lead administrator.

Dameware substitute?

I would like to know if there is a program like dameware, but for linux. Let me explain what I want. I´ve use dameware in windows and it allows me to manage windows workstation and servers in many ways, and I want to do that from mi linux workstation, because I dont know any progran in linux which allow me to remote manage windows resourses from my linux unless doing remote desktop to them, and I dont want that.
If any one know any tool plz tell me I will aprecciate it A LOT!!!!

Thanks in advance
