Unhappy ProFTPd & MySQL Authentication Help

Hey all,

I am fairly new to linux and am having a bugger of a time trying to get mod_sql into the right place and configured properly to work with proftpd for MySQL authentication with my FTP server.

Currently I am running fedora, command prompt mode, and the latest apt-get package of proftpd, which I believe is the latest.

The problems I am currently having is

1. finding the proftpd directory in which I place the mod_sql tarball contents in.
2. ./configure command doesn't seen to work in fedora.

Can anyone be of any assistance please? I have been searching for days, but I still cannot figure this out for the life of me.

Much thanks.

Install gcc to compile programs from source. By default, Fedora doesn't install this.

Ok,

I installed gcc via apt-get in fedora, however upon trying to compile... I am returned with this error again

-bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
