ProFtpd and anonymous log-in

I have st up ProFTPD under Debian and can log in to ftp as a system user but I can't get in as an anonymous user - it keeps asking for a password.

I have set AnonRequirePassword to off in proftpd.conf but it doesn't make any difference.

I have googled but still can't get a solution. I need some anonymous log-ins to get some files from me.

the tag is: <Anonymous ~ftp>
- look here for a complete anonymous configuration : http://www.proftpd.org/docs/configs/basic.conf
- here you may understand more complex configuration files (i still don't succeed to do what i want, but it's helped me):

ok sorry... i've got a little problem on linux, so i had to format and reinstall the whole system

I can't give you the exact line for ftp... but when i reinstall, i used the --disabled-password and --disabled-login options for adduser. If you don't have any ftp user/group try to create them with these options.
If you have an ftp account, watch if the /home/ftp directory is wide readable... put it in 777 to see if it works, things like that

Hope you ll succeed
