Proftp config

Can proftp be set up so that a certain user can only upload files to that dir and vice versa, have another user who can only download from dir's. then have a third user who can do both in either dir? Suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated.

Sure, but that has to do with Linux permissions and not ProFTP.

Give UserA only write permissions.
Give UserB only read permissions.
Give UserC read/write permissions.

The problem there is, I have proftp set up so only the owner of the dir can ftp into it. When I change permission to anything other rwx for the owner it will not allow me to ftp in at all. That is where I am a little confused. I am not good with linux groups, could i set the group access different maybe? Thanks

nevermind the last post, I may have gotten it. Instead of rwx the dir had to have at least x... ? I can give this user wx but not r...

Thanks
