proc/splash: No such file or directory
 
I get this error message when I run the script to install a bootsplash on my system:

proc/splash: No such file or directory

what would I need to do to get the file or directory /proc/splash?

you're probably not using a correctly patched kernel. bootspalsh does require some additional modifications to the system to work correctly

I used the gentoo-source kernel should I still patch the kernel with this?
