PROC-26:Error while accessing physical storage operating system error
Hi all,
I have been trying to install RAC 10g Clusterware on my IBM ppc64 machine.I could finish steps up to final. While I typed root.sh script on nodes finally getting the error failure at final check of CRS stack 10 I am using external SAN storage and same is mounted on both nodes. Created partions for raw devices and voting disk and given permissions like this raw/raw1:root:oinstall:0640 raw/raw2:oracle:oinstall:0640 here oracle is my user and oinstall is its primary group. Problem is my CRS is not able to start from one log file I got the message like OCR initializing failed accessing OCR device PROC-26:Error while accessing physical storage Operating System error [ Permission denied ] 13 Can anybody help me? Is it a hardware problem or any other problem? Regards Sijeesh |
You don't say which 10G RAC (R2? 10.2.0.3?) you're using or which Linux version and kernel version you're using.
You also don't say how you mapped the raw devices to the storage. In 2.4 kernels you used rawdevices. In 2.6 kernels you need to configure raw devices in udev in a udev rules file including the permissions because they revert to defaults on reboot. If you've done all this you might want to try accessing the raw device at command line using the dd command to see if it will write to and read from it. If it doesn't then it lets you know the issue is OS level. If it does then the issue is something in the way you're installing CRS. Also what SAN hardware are you using (disk array, fibre HBA)? |
