Question Problems with ZFS

Beyond the license issue with ZFS and the Linux Kernel, I've used ZFS to create a test system to use ZFS as my /(root) partition, but outside of this, I've has zero luck getting it bootable.

The zpool is set with bootfs=zfs-root of which zfs-root is the ZFS partition. I have the mountpoint set with mountpoint=/ as well.

Outside of this I've had zero luck getting Grub-2.00 to properly build against libzfs, of which it says in configuration prior to build that libzfs.h is not readable or useable but it says libzfs is enabled. I've also patched grub-probe as well using a patch from Funtoo.

Other than dropping my kernel and bootloader into an ext4 partition mounted at /boot, things still won't work. ZFS and SPL both are compiled into the kernel as well.

Is there anything I haven't set or may have forgotten to do that anyone can help to get the test system into a useable state?

as im still very new to the zfs too what distro and is zfs native in your distro or are you installing it as a 3rd party repo/dpkg/etc?

i just installed CentOS v7 using zfs with zero issues, but i did have to create both a /boot of normal size and a /biosboot of 1M in order for the install to be successful.

dont know if that will help or not.

The system is an LFS system built around ZFS and SPL compiled into the kernel. Other than that nothing but Grub is patched and the init is the one from my signature.
