problems with vfat (permission error)


Hi i mounted two vfat partition to my Fedora Core 3.

I'm encoutering write-error on both the vfat partition even thou the permissions are set to 777.

[root@localhost X]# ls -alc
total 120
drwxrwxrwx 8 root root 16384 Jan 1 1970 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Apr 4 09:51 ..
drwxrwxrwx 5 root root 16384 Apr 2 08:47 Application
drwxrwxrwx 16 root root 16384 Apr 2 14:41 Books
drwxrwxrwx 11 root root 16384 Apr 2 08:23 Music
drwxrwxrwx 3 root root 16384 Apr 2 08:29 recycled
drwxrwxrwx 4 root root 16384 Apr 2 08:23 System Volume Information
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 16384 Apr 2 09:01 Videos

is the problem fixed if you remount the partitions with the fstab option umask=0000 ?

Oh! It worked, i remounted them with umask=000 0 0
