Problems with special keys in kde (keyb be, suse)

Hello,

I have got a weird problem with KDE.
When i log into KDE, the special keys of my keymapping (be) don't work (like the at sign, the home-tile sign, ...)

To fix this I must:
- open the control center
- yast2
- system
- keyboard layout
- click on the advanced button
- click on OK to save

Yes, without changing ANY settings at all.
At that point my keyboard works again as it should. Until the next time i log into KDE.

I checked my XF86config file and there the keyboard is set correctly. I tried a different window manager (window maker) and there my keyboard is correct as well so it is really a kde problem.

The strange thing is that I don't have to change any settings. I just go into the advanced menu of the keyboard and that does it. Also, simply going into the keyboard menu isn't enough, i really have to click the advanced button.

I'm using SuSE 8.2 with kde 3.1.1. Before this i used 8.1 (I think with kde 3.0, don't remember) and I didn't have this problem.
I have been using linux for 4 years now so it really bugs me that i can't find the cause of this.

Any ideas anyone ?

Kind regards..

Solved after updating suse to new version.
No idea what the cause was.
