Hello! The night before last we had a brown out where I live, and my server got shutdown. After the brown out I turned on my server and it wanted me to do a "e2fschk", so I did. After this every thing worked fine, or so it seemed. The only problem is that it refuses all ports, even though I turned off the firewall. What could cause this problem? Thanks in advance.
I figured out the problem after I reinstalled a newer version of linux on my server.
You will never belive this, but somehow my mothers computer (running WinblowsXP) set itself to DHCP on our static network, and somehow decided to give itself my servers IP address! The only way I ever figured this out, even though it is too late, is because my Mom came up to me and said that a little warning box kept poping up that said something about an IP conflict. So I went to check it out, and someone or something had set her IP resolution mode to DHCP in the network config dialog. So anyhow, my server is working great now. Thanks for all your time guys, at least I learned allot of stuff, and I needed to upgrade my server anyhow.
